My grooming experience started in 1972 when I went to American School of Dog Grooming. After 3 months I graduated
and took a job with a local veterinarian. Within a few months I decided to groom at my parents home, offering a
pick up and delivery service for all my clients. I took extra classes in grooming through shows starting with all
American grooming seminar and contest. I use to make my own water repellant uniforms for the groomers and sold
them at grooming shows, and also at Inter Groom in New Jersey. I also sold my uniforms at Hershey's Grooming Show
in Pennsylvania. I was very successful at my uniform shows and learned a lot of grooming techniques while I attend
these shows. I also competed with West Highland Terriers, Poodles, and hand strip Border Terriers. I showed my
English Cocker named Bentley, where I learned hand stripping on my cocker and terriers (I still hand strip on Tuesdays
thru Fridays at my shop). I became certified through the National Dog Groomers Association. I attended at least
2 shows a year to further educate my groomers and myself in techniques of grooming. I operated a mobile dog grooming
service from 1984 - 1988. My first shop was started in 1988 (located on Woodward Avenue), and our current state-of-the-art
Dog and Cat Grooming Salon has been located on 14 Mile Rd., in Birmingham, Michigan since1994. A lot of famous people and neighbors
run into each other in our friendly grooming shop.
My crew of groomers is always available for the customers to talk to and ask what kind of grooming service they
would like. We do our best to please our clients and accommodate a lot of pets in our facility, including dogs,
cats and rabbits. We offer a day care, over night and weekend boarding.
